So let's take a quick look at what we thought when developing our OVID signet ring .

Background to OVID, the great Roman poet

The OVID ring from CAPULET is dedicated to the Roman poet Ovid and his mythological poem “ Metamorphoses ”.

These impressive 15 books by Ovid are primarily about the motif of transformation , in which a person or god is usually transformed into a plant, an animal or a constellation.

The basic motif is not that interesting for us, as we know that at CAPULET we have our own will.

So what is the background of the OVID ring

For us, metamorphosis means less a mythological or religious image. We are free spirits . We don't get involved in mythology or beliefs. Everyone should think and feel what they want. At CAPULET it is important to us that a piece of jewelry underlines your self. Not mainstream. 

Of course, a piece of jewelry should first and foremost look great and of course also be a good luck charm or a great gift idea. But it should also reflect who you are and what is important to you as a person.

That's why we recreated and reinterpreted the metamorphoses in our own way.

For us, the metamorphoses represent real changes

Especially for changes and developments, especially in terms of personality, character and self-confidence. And change is important and pretty cool too. This is the only way we can learn and develop and grow.

Because for us, a happy, joyful and perhaps meaningful life means that we are developing. Change. This is what the 3D carved image of the change in the grub motif symbolizes for us:

And it is so important to “flow with it” and to enjoy and celebrate the change rather than cling to conventions.

That we don't hold on to something compulsively, but are allowed to grow, become bigger or smaller. Go with the times. and with our impressions and experiences that we have every day.

Change and development are part of it. With setbacks and triumphs, sadness, euphoria and everything that shows us that everything we experience is exciting and change is fun.
