Most so-called turquoise are not pure stones, but rather “fake” semi-precious stones. The turquoises from CAPULET are completely pure and natural .

History of turquoise jewelry & turquoise gemstones

Turquoise has been imitated like no other gemstone for thousands of years. In ancient Egypt there was already glass with a turquoise blue glaze. To obtain a more intense color and a better surface shine, less colored turquoises are dipped in colorless wax. Pale and weakly colored stones have been recolored for centuries, usually using wax or synthetic resin treatment. Porous turquoises are impregnated with colored synthetic resin to make them sandable and polishable.

So-called “seam” turquoises are art products reconstructed from grinding waste or from powdered bad turquoise, synthetic resin and ferns. The synthetic resin content can be up to 40%. Pressed products are made from cement, plastic granules and paint.
